Well here may be another choice in staves for my trade bow.  Osage with a little snake.


Just cant make up my mind.
This one needs to have a ring chased first.

I'm rethinking mine, I blew up a hickory backed, short osage. I wish my guy had a shorter draw Length. ;D

I spent a couple of hours working on my trade bow this evening.  I got it floor tillered, smoothed out the fades, and heated one limb just a little to center the string over the handle.  I have to take it easy for a few days but then its tillering time  :P

Time is a rare comodity for me right now, but I felt compelled to post something for progress so here's a shot of the tiller on my little hickory trade bow. It still needs a leather handle, string, signature and few more coats of finish.

Sorry Eddie. I told ya I would give you a few pounds either way, but I cant give up any draw length.

 GMC that tiller is killer. Thats all there is to a good bow.

GMC  that is a very sweet tiller. Looking great!

I got tip overlays and nocks cut in all three "possible" bows last night.  Now it's decision time,,,sinew? snake skins?  fish skins?

Looks like a lot of sweet looking bows in the works! My yew stave is starting to bend nicely. Haven't quite got it to low brace yet, I'm taking it slow. I'll get some pics up soon.
