This bow is called 2nd chance,I had a couple of bow blow and decided to try a take down using the good limb on each bow.I cut them in half and trimmed the profile to match on each limb.It turned out
pretty nice.It is 62 n-n and 63 1/2 tip to tip.Its 53@26.Deer rawhide backed with snake skins over
that.Cow horn tip overlays.The take down system works very smooth,just pull it a part and slip
it back togeather.I was afraid it would be noisy but was very please with the way it shot and sounded.See what yall think.O ya it is Osage.

Good tillering on that second chance bow. It's a good shooting bow also, I've given her a try.

Awesome Pappy,

Nice salvage on those limbs and you ended up with a good travel bow to boot. Another beaut of a bow as expected

Great bow Pappy. I love the simplicity of those takedown sleves. I need to make another takedown. The last one went to a new nome. Now I cant take my motorcycle hunting rabbits and I cant afford to drive the truck.

pappy, aren't you getting tired of all these compliments? why don't you make a crappy bow for a change?

it is an absolute beauty (just like the ones before) but the takedown part really adds to it. heck you can carry it in your quiver along with your arrows. it should be real easy to conceal. what do you think justin?

Good looking bow. I have a couple of bows with chrysals on one limb, plus there's Jimmy's one good limb from his first bow attempt. I might have to break down and get a storebought sleeve. I've fiddled with homemade stuff and not been that thrilled.

How close of a fit did you get on the wood going into the sleeves? Glue them in with epoxy to fill gaps or what? And I suppose the wood only sticks in 2"? Any other problems with the sleeves, did you have to beat on them at all to get them to fit together after installing them?

Any tips for us newbies would be appreciated.

I never even thought of that. What a brilliant idea.

Lennie, yes the wood sticks in 2". I don't know how Pappy made his sleeves fit better. I have cut 1/32" out of the brass insert and clamped them while gluing, and sanded them good with emery cloth. I think the emery cloth works best. Justin
