Your lighter arrow should have outshot your heavier arrow by at least 60 yards. That would have put you in world record territory. Try a little more weight up front on your lighter arrows and less taper in the front. More of a front to rear taper.
It was all a bit of a rush to finish the arrows and get out and try the bow before the sun went down.
I'll doing more work on the arrows some time soon, I've another bow on the go at the moment. I don't often do two at once, but the Osage leaped off the shelf and grabbed me round the throat wanting to be made into a bow  ;D ::)

Did the Native Americans think about all this that much or just do it?

Here are some pics, I used the spliced Osage that I made ages ago as a reference (I'd forgotten most of what I did on that bow  >:( ). The little Osage shorty was made from an off cut and makes a great demo bow, showing what a tiny stick can do >:D
It's not polished up yet, I may do a little work on the tips, but I want to try some other arrows before I improve the bow too much and ruin it!

No shame in how you handle your osage, Mr. H. What you have there stands up to anything you might have seen or handled at Pappy's place down in the holler. Brag if you want, you got room swagger some!

Or carry an empty bottle of Montepulciano d'Abbruzzo as you swagger and maybe the spiteful Godz of the Bow will mistake your swagger for stagger!!!

You don't know goofy until you sit down with Del at the Tennessee Classic Saturday night potluck, pull the cork on a good bottle of red wine, and start the conversation rolling!  A rare and wonderful experience!

You may have been under the influence of that "creek water" getting passed around in the canning jars. Over-hydration can do that.

Nope, sorry, no vids on this one  :(
it would be nice to video a flight shot with the fancy effects they use for golf on TV where you get the track of the ball... arrow in this case. Doubtless outside my price range and I don't expect they'd like me turning up at the Ryder Cup with a flight bow... ?
