could use some help
« on: September 03, 2016, 09:19:46 pm »
I am in need of some help to find a way to work my bows, arrows and sew leather. The sewing is the easiest for me.
Every time now when I work a stave or arrows this neurological disorder or nerve damage in my neck flares badly.
I made 4 arrows yesterday and thought I was going to die with pain. (not really).  I am open to suggestions.
How to set up my bench or jigs to hold things. I can't look down very long at a time. I felt like my neck slipped
to one side yesterday. I have 3 vertebras shrinking around my spinal cord.  HELP PLEASE .

If you're interested I can pm you about these movements I've been learning from a guy I box with. They're ancient Taoist health exercises and they've really done a lot for me. A few other people I know have solved some chronic issues with them too.the movements are essentially self acupuncture.  Sorry to hear about the chronic pain.

Have you been to a doctor or some sort of specialist for this issue? Sounds like you could use some sort of physical therapy or perhaps a surgical procedure more than anything else. You certainly have my sympathies for this problem you are dealing with.

I am not a candidate for therapy or surgery. Too much damage. That is why after 35 years of heavy mechanics I am
on disability. Tried therapy and caused more problems.

I hear ya.  I have chronic lower back problems, and last year my sacrum started acting up as well as the 2 bad disks that are basically no existent.  My wife wheeled me in to the hospital last year, it totally seized up on me.
My back issues started about 38 years ago.  They treat this sick old puppy very well here.  :)   Thank crap for pain medication.

That's rough man, i would suggest raising the work platform up to eye level and maybe a hobby vice at least for the arrow work
