Got my name, I'm stoked. I think it will be really fun making a bow for this guy. Time to dig around in my stave pile and see what calls out to me.

James, I know just who you have now. Too  many clues. "he aint real purty" gave it away for me.

Got quite a bit done today.  Reduced a belly piece of Ipe to floor tiller, rough flattened a backing strip and steam bent two recurve hooks to be spliced in..

James, I know you weren't talking about me, I know I'm still purty, your wife told me. And I have a few of your bows.

I got an intimidating guy to build a bow for! Thought why not try something new.
I roughed this yew stave out a few months ago and used steam for all the bends.
The sapwood had some damage, so I decrowned it and planned to sinew back it.
I dug it out last week and laid down the first course, I'll do 1 more layer, maybe 2.
Its about 52" long, I've never made a 5 curve, if it doesnt work out I usually make 2 or 3 bows at a time  ;)

So you got me James, I fit the ant pretty part anyway. Of course I know a lot of names on this list that fit that  :o:) Got my name yesterday, didn't get much info on what he wants so I guess I will just do what I want him to have. ;) :) :) Great guy and I will be proud to build a bow for him, just hope he like it. Got some nice 15 + year old Osage that has been seating around just waiting for a special occasion. :)

I have some 20 year old Osage from Michigan that I will probably use.  One set of billets has a really nice natural recurve to the tips that I am thinking of making into a take down
