d/r longbow "angular"
« on: October 04, 2015, 06:23:31 am »
Last time I work a lot on this type bows. This one is hickory back, double ash core, ipe belly, 43 lb. On 9,3 GPP 28" shot near 190 fps on standard 18 ff nets bowstring with standard BH and silencers. On faster bowstring and low BH im sure can hit near 200

Never tried that style. And if I did I would want it to turn out like that one. Great job

I love the handle/riser on your bows.  Sleek, indeed, and the speed you're getting is really impressive.  Beautiful work.

excellent designs and exquisite workmanship...... what more could one ask for???

btw -I looked at your site and could find no other reference to any bows that use wood and carbon. when you use these two materials together, do you use the carbon for tension or compression?

Many year I have work only on natural materials but a lot of people prefer modern, so I start work on carbon. I dont like glass on longbows. I have made few experiments - carbon back ,  in core, on belly , 2 sides carbon. In this moment im close to use carbon only for backing.  2 sides carbon is very fast, but for me to agressive combination. Carbon inside of limbs increase stiffnes with theseme mass but its strange , effeciency is lower. Maybe hysteresis grow? For me carbon backing and wood belly give best results - bows are very fast, but not "crazy", and very smooth, quiet and comfort.
