I've been shooting my trade bow for two days now and I think it's a winner. Still holding 2" of reflex. Prolly ship in a week or so.

I've started on my plan A bow.  I'm using the osage stave I got from sidewinder when he was trimming down his collection.  Its a little shorter than i'm used to, about 63" if I recall.  There were some cracks along the back, but none were deep and all came out then I chased it to one ring.  I think I'm going to try and recurve the tips a little which will be  first for me.  I'll try and get some pics next time I work on it.

Thanks guys! Final stats are 52#@28. 67", 2" at the fades.   I made it a bit longer because its gonna have to deal with some humidity....  Thats just a  rattan wrap on the handle. A vine or spruce root wrap would be sweet,  just need to make sure its not a poison ivy vine.

if you would have used poison ivy you could have named it "itchy"......

but i am jealous of the recipient... beautiful bow...

Plan "B" bow underway in my shop, but not a scenic as E. Jensen's workshop.  It would be hard to keep my mind on work if I was out there. 

Maybe this billet stave will behave......some prime hickory.

Don't no if this one will be a swap bow or not but no matter what I think heat is needed.

I finally got out of my funk so here is a little update on my plan B that has turned into plan A. I've got it roughed out and an even thickness in the limbs. I've got to do a little bit more on one fade. Then get it Bending good for floor tiller. Then a few sessions of heat bending and a good heat treat. Patrick

Thanks, I got some challenges to overcome with it. Might even need some advice for a bit of it. But if it works out it will turn out sweet!Patrick
