Blackhawk you can thank me.  I forced James to sign up last minute  >:D

I have one of his bamboo dragons and its been my go to bow for a long time.  Mine too has ipe but then cummaroo or something like that for the center lam.

Beautiful osage bow you got there James.  Nice work coaster.

Whoever has mine name I won't be able to get to shoot it til early June.  So you might want to hang onto it and shoot it a bit.  I live over in Thailand and the shipping address is my sister's place in MN.  I didn't know so many of you were going to finish them so fast.

I stopped by my lumber yard yesterday and picked out some nice woods to try with the black palm or backing.  Got some burmese rosewood, yellow paduak and red paduak.  All for about $30  8) and they are about 100 years old out of old Thai house floors or beams.

James after searching your work out on PA I have to say intimidation does not cover it. You are an amazing bowyer as everyone can see looking at Hawkman’s bow and all the other fine bows you have posted…  great job and knowing it was going to you pushed #9 as far as this newbie could push :)

Thank you for your kind words sir,,,  I truly hope you enjoy the little bow….

Holy cats! James that is a gorgeous bow. I need to get caught up on this thread.

Began work on my Hop Hornbeam Gnarly bow. Split the sapling, evened up the belly, marked it out and shaved down the edges. What would yo call the view as you look at the back or belly? Not the profile, is it? Whatever it's called I made it that shape. I want to keep all the gnarly lumps on the back, so I am working this one from the belly in and very carefully taking off the bark with a tiny little scraper.

I'll put some photos up later tonight. I'm about the head down to the shop.

I just did a super high res scan (2400dpi) of a section of the HHB stave: 38 rings. The diameter is 1-3/8"
