Timo inspired Scottsbluff
« on: July 04, 2009, 01:56:56 pm »
After looking at all those Scottsbluff points Timo's been posting lately, I decided to try one fer myself.  It's kinda tough getting those big parallel flakes to fall in there just right. I caught myself several times not paying attention to that, so the pattern ain't exactly right.  I guess that just gives me an excuse to try another one. ;D

Awesome job on that point Shannon, looks ver well done to me.

I think on the base  the end thinning was down early and the end pressure scars were  covered by edge pressure flakes,at least that is what I have seen from authentic points. Looks like you have some good convexity going also. The masters tell me that most scotts were thin in the base tapereing to the thickest part about 1/3rd the way up ,then thinned toward the tip. Them boys from by gone days knew their stuff!

Great point

I'll remember that about the base thinning on the next one. ;)  I don't know if I'm good enough to regulate the thickness as much as the originals though. I'm just happy not to break it.
Thanks Dana,  I almost have enough pieces to fill a box for you. :)
