You guys think a belly skin would add some back protection?  There's a few flaws. Seems to soot good with smooth draw.

Tim...right limb is stiff from the fade out to midlimb.  Looks pretty darn good though.

Outer 2/3 of the left limb looks stiff.  Right has a nice even bend just get them even and continue tillering from the outside in.

thanks Otter, I am facing the possibility of having to choose between the two - a heavy primitive at the top of my guys's spec, or, a middle-weight D at the bottom of his range..........

Ty - Looks like it is bending pretty good.  Agree with Jeff that the mid will need to bend more, but go slowly.  Roy Painter (Roy from Pa) has several videos of trilams being drawn on the tree as he is tillering them if you want to watch some to compare.

Mitch, I am curious--I haven't been able to find those videos.  Can you help me find them?

So, here's where I stopped for the day.  I think it's coming along well, but input is always welcome.

Here's how the bow looks at a 6" brace after getting it to bend to 19":

Here she is bending to 19":

Here's the unbraced picture:

And here's a 15 second video (attempt) of me exercising the bow:

Hopefully I'll be able to get it finished tillering soon!

Man that's pretty!
s it a tiny bit stiff just past the right fade to mid limb and maybe a tiny bit just past where the string is hanging on the limb in the unbraced pic?

I agree with DuBois.  It is pretty good, so all comments are fine tuning at this point.  I also see a stiff spot right above the thermometer on the left side.  On the video it looks like you are pulling to 40#.  If that is your goal, great.  But if you are going for a heavier draw weight, you need to start pulling closer to that  or you risk missing your target.  You are even enough to pull closer to your target, I think.

The limbs are also coming around enough that a tillering gizmo  could help for all but the firs 6 and the last 6",  I would say.

Well, it's good to hear it's all down to fine tuning!  So, my goal weight is not 40.  The plan was after checking in with you guys, if everything was looking good, I would pull it until I got close to the goal weight (55ish lb @ 29"), then start scraping to reduce weight.  I think there's still plenty of osage on the bow that I don't need to worry about messing with the side profile.  If you go by the every 2 inches is 5 lbs of weight, I should be hitting 55lbs when I get to around 25"-26".  Now, I know that doesn't leave a ton of room for error, but I will be careful for sure when it comes to taking off the slightest amount of wood on the stiff spots.  And thanks for bringing up the gizmo, Jeff!  I never thought of using it for this style of bow, but I think you're right that it is bending in a way that would make sense to use one.

ty that is coming along nicely....I know what u mean about being careful with wood removal.  Sometimes I switch to a 32 grit sanding block when it's getting tight.

By the by.....somebody should have a package today.  ;)
