Update time. Playing around with some reclaimed siding. It will be an organized hodgepodge of recycled artistic stuff. The 1/2 birch plywood was all given to me 42" x 42" a whole trailer full for FREEE!!!!! The roofing was also off my  grandparents old fish camp flipped over to the fresh side and screw holes lined up to reuse.

Enjoying the updates.

Looking good.  I like how you are re-purposing all of the supplies.

Lookin great man.  We just got all our windows this Monday, for the house.  This cabin is just awesome.  It's crazy what people will give you for free.  I had someone just give me about a ton of corrigated tin sideline from the sixties for free. He even tor it off the roof and pulled all the nails.  I just had to go pick it up.  Can't wait to see more man.

Nothing wrong with that.  We sometimes spend that on 4 gallons of paint....... :o  The cabin is taking shape.

Well , we sold our house and the 4acres it sits on , so the updates should be rolling in. I have a good bit more done and will have new pics up before the weekends out. My buddy from Indiana owns 10 acres beside us and is thinking of doing something similar to stay in when he is down here hunting.

Lots of long talks between the missus and myself this weekend. We have weighed the pros and cons of the lifestyle we are choosing. We have always dabbled in a more "primitive" lifestyle so its now or never full in!!!! We have decided to home school our daughter after this year , purchase a few more tillable acres , and expand on the hogs and goats. JW we have bees on our long term radar. Now the WORK begins. Any input would be great and taken under great advisement from others who are /have done this. The shack is coming along. It will probably turn into a studio if we get this other ground , and build a small dogtrot style there. Big problem right now is I have to find a place to store 2 doz dried osage and hickory staves, oh the stress  >:D Shed going up asap.

Good luck with your adventure.  I have a great deal of respect for those who can live a primitive lifestyle.
