Way to go wild! I built a lot of my house in VA from salvage framing
material I got from the demolition of buildings at the Brooklyn NY Naval Yard.
Twenty foot floor joists and every other stud good ole Douglas Fir.
The horse barn is framed from cedar lumber I had sawed from local trees.

Very cool Keith the wife and I are just in the tear down stages still.  Good to see some of the work coming together.  I can't wait to start our house. We are going to go a little bigger because we have a year and a half old.  So about 875 sqft.  I truly can't wait.  We got our road cut in last month and are staking the house out with ribbon.

I can't wait to see more of yours.  Keep em coming  :)

Way coooool, Wildman!  The salvaged materials idea is right up my alley.  Takes a bit of time to collect but free or ultra-cheap is awesome.  Keep 'em coming!
