I don't think it will pop off but it might develop a little seperation right in the fades area. Kind of a close call it might be fine, Steve

I had the same concerns as Steve. With it being that thin and long, I was wondering about it lifting close to the fades. Also, what is the advantage of backing hickory with hickory ?
