Thinking we could mix it up a little for the point of the month.
Last months point Turkey tail is what i would consider a advanced point type. they were usually 6+ inches long and very very thin.
But a challenge is nice!

That being said i would like to propose that instead of point of the month lets try points of the month. Two point types one being advanced and very challenging and the other point more novice friendly.

If everyone is ok with this idea i would like to nominate a "Folsom" for the advanced point type for Aug.

Let me know what yall think of this idea.
Aloha.

Sounds like a great idea to me. How's about a basic triangle point for an easy one?

Jesse looks pretty good to me, What kind of material is that one. I got a pile of busted up stuff an an my flutes sure don,t run to far :( How the heck did they do these 10,000yrs ago. :o no wonder they went to notched points, flutes are hard , hard. Triangle point is starting to sound real good ;D Bob

Looks good Jessie. Folsoms are easy-just order a box of flutes and then sharpen the edges of them. :)

I've ruined a lot of rock trying to make a Folsom, never got one that I was happy with.

Jesse I know if u make the nipple kinda stout and wider than normal it will generally make a wider flute..I been doing a lot more free hand fluting and some flu ring with pressure... I use a totally different jig than u do..for whatever reason a few of us northern guys use the guillotine jig instead of solberger.. but when I get back home from fort Jackson.. I can try a Folsom... I also want to add for some folks that trying new and sometimes difficult point types will help increase your knapping abilities... give it a go there's no shame in trying !!
