Never put a patch on a round belly,guess it will be more difficult to get it to fit right.I
suppose you could do it on the back but I have never tyred that either plus you already
have the skins on it so I would take my time to get it thin and to also fit good it should
still work.

Didn't Gordon fix a hinge with a raw-hid belly patch?

Bryan,
I've used rawhide to fix compression fractures, but I don't think it will fix a hinge.

I've used wood patches on the belly to shore up weak spots before - that's probably what I would do in this case.
