Title: "Bad Boy" 54" Osage Bow
Post by: stone_huntsman on April 18, 2014, 11:06:39 pm
This is the first bow I've posted, I've had it done for a while.  It's 54" long and 47 # @ 26", deflexed off the handle and slightly reflexed tips. Self backed, I painted the handle and did little artwork on it, has Osage tip overlays with dacron string. I've shot it quite a bit and this bow will flat out fling an arrow, it actually surprised me. I just started calling it "Bad Boy" because it is not very big bow, but it is pretty bad. So I figured why not show it off.

Thanks guys, I've lurked around here for a while and never really had a bow that I thought looked good enough to post. Because all the bows I see on here look awesome, but I figured this one would be a good one to start with.

That's where I got the idea of painting it like that. I've seen Ed's bows online and thought they looked pretty cool so I tried to style it like his.

That is a very nice bow. Great use of a deflexed stave. It's funny,I used to avoid those staves ,but the last few years have started using them, and liking them. Good work. God Bless

This bow is fun to shoot and I am hoping to get it in the turkey woods this week. I really appreciate everything y'all have said, my confidence is up and I'm thinking I'll have to make a few more bows now. It is addicting.
