Heres a sinew backed yew bow about 63 inches long and 45 @ 27 inches. holds some reflex plus the recurves. The bow shoots very well and I like the way the paint job turned out. I also made some cane arrows with bonw points, theyre pretty long about 34 inches long.

Beautiful bow. I bet you put a lot of time into that one. How long did you give the sinew to cure and I'm curious how many layers or grams you put on?
-

Thank you and appreciate the nice comments gus :) im glad you all liked it it is a good shooter too.
Gaur: I sinew backed only about 56 inches of this bow, I stopped at the recurves. I only put about 1.5 Oz of sinew on it, not very much if you think about it for this size bow. I wanted to keep the physical weight down since it is pretty wide already and so adding more sinew would just be adding more hand shock so I kept it on the low side. I could have gone a little narrower on the limbs, they are 2 inches maybe could have done 1.75 and it wouldve shot a little faster just because its yew.

That's a very nice bow indeed! I like the simplicity of the design and shape of that style.
Would yew have been typically used in that style of bow, back in the day?
-
That is a beauty!! Wish I some yew after seeing that but I got enough unfinished stuff already :o
Also, thanks a lot for the youtube sinew job with the knox glue. It helped me do my first one last month.

Hatcha-yes yew would have been used for this type of bow back in the day, yet it would have been alot shorter, pribably 20 inches shorter and without the narrowed out tips.
