SG22, it refers to the late Paleolithic Solutrean culture centered in eastern France from about 20,000BP to around 17,000BP. It was characterized by exceptional knapping technology far above any other culture of the time, such as large "laurel leaf" bifaces, prismatic blade cores, and shouldered points. There is a theory believed by some archaeologists that the Clovis culture in North America was initiated by the Solutreans migrating across the Atlantic Ocean from Europe. A couple things that support this are the fact that Solutrean and Clovis cultures shared many knapping techniques/technologies which were used by no other cultures of the time. The Clovis culture is usually held to be the oldest "officially" recognized culture in North America, but the highest concentration of Clovis points is in the Southeastern US instead of the west-just the opposite that one would expect from the Beringia land bridge migration theory.
