CASH
« on: August 23, 2008, 09:11:41 pm »
I am real tired of fixing posts where people are offering to "trade cash" for items they want. I have dealt with 3 this week myself. This is a deliberate attempt to break the rules that Primitive Archer has set for use on this forum.  If you cannot follow the rules for the trading post, DO NOT use the trading post at all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Rule #6
Unless you are a paying advertiser in the Primitive Archer magazine no one is allowed to sell products or promote their businesses on this site.

So here's the deal. Members are welcome to post items or services for trade but not for money.

A complete list of rules is located here. http://www.primitivearcher.com/smf/index.php/topic,95.0.html  Please read them. Thank you, Justin

I'll go one step farther, If you are not an advertiser, don't post your link or business name on EBAY. Tell people to get intouch with you in a PM or email. I PM'd one being nice with a warning to change it on the Arrow site, you still have one more to do, or I'll change it.

what if you wanted to trade old money,i.e. coins, for something primitive.
i only ask cause i collect and trade old coins.
not trying to stir the pot here.these old coins are usually worth more than face value.

Honestly I don't see a problem with trading cash for something.  The economy's in the toilet, and unfortunately for most of us a bundle of sinew or a leather quiver doesn't pay the rent.  I know it's against the rules, but I'd be willing to pay $$$ for something if I didn't have anything the other person wanted.  Hell, isn't $$$ just a barter system anyway??  Just my 2 cents worth.  Uh oh, maybe I shouldn't have mentioned money there!!   :)

If everybody wants to keep the trading section on here it's easier to PM each other if you want to deal in cash instead of spending time to come up with ways to beat the system.Like Billy said, the economy is in the toliet. So if you sell somebody your sinew on this site and Three Rivers pays for advertisement you are taking money out of their pocket. It would make me wonder why waste my money paying for an Ad in the Magazine. Same thing if you sell a stave on  here, then Rudderbows get's PO'ed.
Tim, all you have to do is say you have valuable collectables for trade, PM me. Billy, if you want to sell sinew, take out an add in the Magazine, then you can sell it on the site.

I aint got no cash either. I am a student and only work a few hours a week. My bills are paid when I have the money. When they are paid I aint got no money. GOD Bless the barter system.
That is just my 2 cents. OOPS I also mentioned money.  ;D

Well, the good thing about trading is, if you talk it over, you all got what ya wanted in the trade. If you didn't got what you wanted, then you don't trade with that guy anymore.

I always like trading for the little pieces of paper with zeros after the number one two or five. All offers will be considered by the number of zeros that follow these first three numbers.  Other than guitars that is about all I wish to trade for. Mike

I've been looking for good quality trade points and natural barred turkey feathers by the gross. I'm not out but I'm showing short on inventory.  Can't find any. Any traders out there?
I found many years ago that it is much easier and more rewarding working with those that don't know anything than those that know it all.
