anyone tried to use tree of heavan?

Thats as close as I can get. Stems with 17 alternating leaves and grey bark with little eyes alternating north south and east west/. Is it any good?

Its down there at the bottom tier of the list with box elder/ash maple, basswood, etc.   Light, brittle wood weak in both tension and compression

I spend a lot of time killing Ailanthus (or trying to kill it). It's pretty weak wood. I think I saw a pic once of a bow made from it, but I believe it wound up breaking after a couple hundred shots. I couldn't stand the smell long enough to make a bow from it-that stuff has a hideous stench.

I just moved to SC in the spring and this stuff is EVERYWHERE!  I had never seen it back in Texas.  With this stuff so prolific, I was wondering if it could be used as a bow... My questions were answered Sunday evening when I was cleaning my back yard of the over-growth and found one!  I just touched it with my chainsaw and it gave up it's life.  I really think I could have just throttled up the saw next to it and it would have laied over on its own!  LOL.
I have asked several people here what this tree is and no body could tell me.  The only thing they did say "that is just a weed here and if you want some of it, you can come get it from my back yard!"

Hmmmm. I wonder what battery acid on the cut stump would do?  maybe that will kill it!

"Tree of hell" is what we usually call it around here. Like Sailordad said, painting the stumps when you cut them helps. Use Garlon or straight Roundup (no dilution) and paint it on within a few minutes of when you cut the tree. If you let the stump dry out for more than a few minutes, it won't work well. All you really have to cover is the cambium.

The only positive use of Alianthus is shade. It ranks below Silver maple in my book, barely.

I bought root b gone at the local ace hardware store,so Id guess any hardware or farm supply might have it,or somthing to its equal.
