Stone point tests.

I made two sacrificial arrows with my least favorite points. This is my first time testing stone points.

They did great, with decent penetration until I backed up and shot high with both. They punched through the backdrop and hit 2" thick pine. You can guess what happened  (lol)

Even if a stone point hits bone and breaks the broken edge is quite sharp and can add to the lethality.
 Looks like you are using hardwood shoots shafts. What are they?

Nice. I've only made a few wild rose shafts. I use mostly sourwood or hill cane. I've made a few red osier and viburnum shafts also.

Gadda love that type experimental testing. How did they do for penetrating the pine?

I really like rose shafts, they tend to stay straight for a long time after heat-straightening. Just made my first sourwood shoot set and about to bare shaft test and fletch them today. Should have pics soon.

The heads penetrated the wood about 3/8 of an inch. But they went through an inch of asphalt board before hitting.
