I don't post many bows anymore but thought I might post this one,it's a special piece of wood from a good friend, gifted to me several years ago at the Classic, finely got around to turning it into a bow. It is Hawthorn with lots of character which I like. See what ya think. Deer antler over lays and a few knots and holes.

Hemp wrap grip with some Tennessee orange beads, 66 N-N 42@26.

Sweet shooter, pretty fast with a 500 grain arrow even with the low weight, probable won't make my elk hunt this year but will for sure see some action this fall in the deer woods.

Thanks guys, Dave it is some beautiful wood, very light in the hand and I think most I have seen has a lot of character but seems to be very tough and springy kind of like Yew.I did get it a little closer when floor tillering than I probably should have is the reason I missed the weight I was looking for which is usually about 50 at my draw. Next piece if I ever get anymore I will get it strung a bit earlier , live and learn I guess.

Really cool bow. I think I have a piece of hawthorn that was gifted to me many years ago. It was pretty gnarly with a lot of very small branches. Seemed like very dense wood.

Thanks Del, yes we do although that Long bow you gifted me years ago has nothing gnarly about it.

Ya Ryan Your piece may have come from Cody also, he gave a lot away at the Classic several years ago. Miss him , he was a very talented young man.

That is a beauty Pappy. Always wanted to try Hawthorn but have never found a piece long enough .
