Hackberry reflex/deflex
« on: October 15, 2024, 08:38:09 pm »
Here’s a hackberry reflex deflex pulling 34# at 28”. The tips are bloodwood. The profile is a little screwed since the bow slid in the form a bit when I was deflecting the handle, so the apex of the bend is more towards the upper fade. It looks a bit off but performs well. After forming there was about 4” reflex and after tillering and shooting in ended up with the tips even with the back of the handle.

Thanks for looking

Kyle

Hey, I gotta bust you right here! I saw this bow on some Facebook page the other day and I accuse you of stealing that guys pics and claiming it was yours!!!  ;D

Man do I feel chagrined. I have seen enough of your bows that I should have recognized the work right off and commented on the F/B thread. Dang, that's one sweet bow, just classy looking all around. Nice work brother!

Very nice bow.  I love that handle and stitching.

Very professional piece of craftsmanship, well done. I hear a lot of good things about hackberry as a bow wood, never used it though.

Very nice.  That's a wood I'd like to try, too.  Can we have a close-up of the artwork on the back?  I'm seeing a turquoise colored stripe but can't tell much more.

Sweet bow, and well executed. Love the detail leather work on the handle and the tips.

Nicely done Kyle.

I like the profiles and I’m sure it’s a fun one to shoot.
