Hey all, I just clicked on the three little dots that appear on the pop up ads and it took me to google....I was able to select "block all" and the pop up ads have gone away.

Next time I get a popup I will capture an image...And I am not talking about the ads across the bottom of the page to help clear/muddy the water.  I would click a thread and get a an ad.  I had to click to close the ad (on my desk top)before I could see the thread I was interested in.  On my mobile devices I found if I rotated my device 90 degrees the ad would disappear.  Make sense?  Paul

Advertisings are sort of based on your preferences as user. So someone gets naked girls and others fishing stuff
I keep getting electric vehicles for 3rd age and I'm still quite far from needing it so the AI behind user profiling still have room for improving
I can live with adv on PA if they are for supporting hosting costs
if they are imposed from hosting provider, a browser like Brave or an ad blocker can solve all problems

Google cannot post advertisements without site owner consent
Site owners can publish advertisements and be payed by google (or similar advertising agency ).
In some case the ads are set by the hosting provider that owns the software that manage the site.
i dont know wich is the case for PA

Seems like ads attaching to my posts has gotten worse.

Feels like lesson No 9 of the "how to ruin a successful forum"-guidance. Great idea  :-D

I talked to Marie Luther about this and here is what she told me...

I talked to my dad about it yesterday. I don’t know what to do. completely out of my wheelhouse and because the forum was set up with simple machines it’s not our own website.  We pay for the server to host it.  Do you or anyone have a suggestion on what to do besides shutting the forum down? I’m open to hear anything.

If anyone has any suggestions about what to do about this please contact Marie(marieluther818@gmail.com) and help keep this great forum alive.

I can live with pop ups. I’d really hate for the forum to shut down. I hope she’s just taking about some sort of reboot type of thing. That’s my go to when I have an issue with my phone or other devices..
