Doe with the .54
« on: January 11, 2023, 04:56:12 am »
Well it's better late than never this season.Last year was a breeze. This year it's been tough getting a shot with the self bow.The deer just were'nt there. My small hunting area butts up to others' hunting areas.
A few days ago I got my sights on this nice 150 pound doe just before closing of the season.
Good hit.Bled well.Easy trail to follow.Only went around 70 to 80 yards.
She should yield around a 12 square foot brain tanned hide.

Great shot placement.   I bet that was an easy trail to follow.
I started out with nothin' and I still got most of it left

Congratulations, Ed! It was a tough one for me, also. Got a doe with the .47 cal muzzleloader the start of the season, stuck a little spike at Pappy's that we could not find and didn't see a single deer the rest of the season.
