Do you all try to have you'd stone points already crazy sharp before you mount them on a shaft? Or do you hafted"almost done" and then take final flakes off edge?

I'm not a knapper but I prefer to haft the best finished point to the shaft and touch it up later if needed.

easier to sharpen off the shaft than on.. IMO.. gut

I like to practice with my arrows to know where they will hit. I get my serrations almost sharp enough so I can practice and take a final flake before hunting season.
