Yeah, I do agree with you on that, if I were to shorten by an inch or two I would work those areas a little more, (there is also a spot early mid limb I'd like to hit), but feels a nice bow shooting wise.
I found it quite a tricky stave to work and taking the sapwood down 5mm was quite laborious, although enjoyable in a therapeutic way
, it has been a good learning curve and feel pretty charged working on my current bow project which has its own fun challenges.
Thanks again for that shellac advice, I'm looking forward to using that and should arrive in the next day or two, I've been watching and reading up about its use, as well as being a lot more eco friendly, and I will be using it for all my woodworking applications in future.
