hey badger I dont know its common ash tree from the woods near my home in erfurt seasoned 2 years. sorry for responding so late, we moved and I have some projects running. thank you all for your replies!

Nice bow!  That looks like a good design to lighten a bow, if you haven"t progressed too far.
