Mini fire kit.

Just puting this in my pack to lighten it up. Birch Bark, Rath, Char Cloth, striker with teeth left on for saw and striker.

Very handy item to have with you.Good use of tins.
Here's mine.Center has a magnifying glass.I was given this brass flint and steel container from ah Ogalala in South Dakota.
Back up containers also.
I always took these with me to rendezvous in years past.

Both kits look very nice and usable. I make mine using an American made file. I break the file at around 3" so it fits in the altoid box and grind the two edges flat removing the file marks. I also cook my striker rock to make it harder and it throws a real nice spark when doing that.

Using a file like I do not only allows me to start a fire but put an edge back on the knife if need be.
