My new black locust bow:new pics added!
« on: May 06, 2008, 05:49:06 pm »
Hi friends,
I've finished the tillering on my last bow: a black locust, 65"1/2 ntn, 50#@28".
It has about 1"3/4 of reflex from its initials 3"1/2.
Weights 19.5 oz. and it's 1"1/2 at widest point, tapering to 1/2", plain-oval cross section.
This week I can not make all the finishes cause I've got a lot of work, but I hope I can do them next week and take some pics for you.
The billets

Initial front view and corrected

unbraced, braced and full draw

Bye,
David

Me too. That's turned out very nice from the billet stage to now!

Very nice, tiller looks sharp.  BL is one of my favorites.

Awesome lines and tiller!  You have given hope to every set of "ugly" billets out there!

Great job and I can't wait to see the final finish; that brown should be stunning under some Tru Oil (or the like).

That bow has a really nice profile and tiller to match.

Thank you George, Joe, Rick, Dana and Gordon!!
For me it would be almost impossible to make bows like this without your bows, tutorials and help of all of you and the rest of the friends in this forum,
Thank you to all.
