Something from Patrick.
« on: January 05, 2021, 08:09:51 pm »
I did a little trade with Patrick and this rock was part of it. I was thinking it was flint ridge when I first saw it. Worked pretty nice. Was pretty slick. The deeper I got inside it the more I thought it might be some Texas rock.

Whatever it is I’m already happy with the trade and I still have more stone to hit.

Thank Patrick.

Switched to indirect

Not perfect. I got a few steps, but I still kinda like it.

That’s looking really good, can’t wait to see the finished point!

Oh the top picture just came through, that’s sweet! I was only seeing the edge profile pictures.

I finished this one up.

I think it turned out nice. Not sure what this material is but I would like to get more of it. Makes a nice sharp durable point.

I halved it to a Red Osier fore shaft with pine pitch glue and sinew. I will make a main shaft lance handle that the fore shaft will fit into.

Really makes me want to stab something.
