I still haven't decided on a sheath design yet. Just been carrying it in my pack in a duck tape and cardboard blade guard. Been using it for the last month to dress squirrels and a couple of rabbits, even used it for breaking down part of my bear.
I'm really liking this AEB-L steel. It doesn't keep a scary sharp edge like more modern auper steels, but so far it only takes me 30 seconds on a paddle strop with diamond paste, and 30 seconds with green compound and it's back to shaving sharp. Hasn't suffered any chips or rolling of the edge on bones (mostly squirrel bones just to keep in perspective).
At some point I'm going to do some larger hunting and skinning knives from AEB-L and see how it holds up to elk.
