Why I haven't been going for walks
« on: September 03, 2019, 08:26:42 pm »
These pictures were taken last week a couple of blocks from my house right beside the trail I walk on. I just got a copy of the pictures today. It's funny, you know they're there all the time but it just takes something like this and as soon as I hit the bush the hair on the back of my neck stands up. The next day the same house had a bear it one of their apple trees. bears are common but cougars are usually shy. Seeing two like this is very rare.

Big muscled cats that are perfect stalkers and ambushers. Now why would the hair be standing up on the back of your neck?

They do look a bit more than comfortable!  Not sure they are planning on staying and carving out a territory, but they look very healthy.  Be wary on the trails!

Seems like Cats and Bears are all to common these days.   Times are changing.  At least carry a big blade with you or not.   I use to hike by myself and ride the mountain bike as well,  but have second thoughts now.

Fawn call, and a 12ga. Cougar isn’t bad eating. Stay safe! Ed

I heard on the radio today that a woman my age just got killed by a Bear this week not much more than a couple hours away
