Grant, there's a store called Westwind Hardwoods in Sidney near the airport.  It's really close to Slegg's.  I bought a great piece, but they have a lot.  Pretty gnarly stuff, but there's a piece 6 feet long, 3 inches thick, 5 inches wide...you could get enough laminations out of that to build a lot of bows.  All heartwood, but quite a few knots.  That's why i didn't pick it.
I cut over 40 laminations today.  Half are 33 inches long.  Half are 38 inches long.  I still have 3 chunks of wood, good for about 30 more lams 33 inches long.
You don't have a table saw do you?  Is that why you don't cut your own hickory?
Each 4 laminations is 1 bow.  2 belly, 2 core, and 1 hickory or ash on the back.  So now, I've gotta build risers!  I've got alot on the go here, man!  I better finish the bows i'm working on, and then get back to the yew.
Thanks for the good word.
