Dang grub holes

 Went way deeper than I thought on my guava stave, draw weights definitely gonna be 20# or under. Well, gotta take what you can get. Just gotta wait and see what happens. Guess I have to go back for that black palm.

dont know if guava is strong on tension or compression but why not add a facing/backing?

I’ve thought of doing that before but the stave is very snakey and we don’t have good glues here. I’ll just chock this one up to tillering practice.

Where are you that you dont have acsess to good glue?

I’m in the Philippines, I’ve tried several epoxies and they’re not usable. I’ve also tried hide glue but it takes extremely long to dry and gets covered by the ants. I have found some yellow carpeneters glue recently that shows promise. Can you put a belly on a snakey bow though?
