Fallen Archer
« on: February 13, 2019, 12:32:55 pm »
It is with a heavy heart that I make this post.  The traditional archery community lost an important member today.  A close friend of mine was killed in a vehicle wreck this morning.  He was a chief of police, author, artist, archer, and an ambassador for traditional archery.  If any of you are members of the Compton's organization he was the only choice for president on the ballot you recently received.  He attended many archery events and I'm sure some of you have met him.  He was always at the Compton's table visiting with anyone who walked by.  For the group of friends who have been at my house he's the guy I made the osage two holer bow for.  I am honored that he carried my bow and used it to take this deer.  Rest in peace my friend.

That makes me sad, buddy. Now that I read the whole story I remember clearly who is from what you told me over the years.

Some arrows fly great and just break too soon.

My condolences to you and the whole community.

Very sad, I have reached an age that has my friends departing at an all to alarming rate, each one that passes leaves a void in my heart.

Yeah Clint, sad news. Me and my son Jarrod heard it on the news yesterday. Can't believe it,was looking forward to seeing him next week at the Spring Fling. Up at the Compton shoot up in Michigan, we were talking about getting together and shooting and get you too. He's in our thoughts and prayers. Brother Dan
