I haven't posted one for a while. Last week I had an Elder bow crack on the tiller and didn't know what to pick up next.
I found the half log in my stash with "Cherry/Plum? 2009 " and I don't think it's cherry.
Anyhow a tad over 40# @28"
68" tip to tip (well I didn't want it to break ;) )
I had to do a heat bend at the grip to take out a sideways bend, also took out a tad of deflex from one limb and heat treated a a bit on the belly where the roughing out was a tad over enthusiastic  ::) (Well I was after a quick win following the Elder blow up)
I've only shot a few arrows through it yet, as I'm just using an over twisted string from another bow, I'll make the proper string later.
I'll get a full draw shot too.

Nice Del. Looking forward to seeing the full draw. I like to go with that longer instead of blowing up on me route to. I'd like to try a plum. Heard good things about it.

Great looking bow. My first successful bow was wild plum about 29 years ago. Of course my tips were about 15 times the mass of your bow.

It was fairly hard and slightly crunchy between rings... a bit like "Osage lite"  ;D that's one reason I think it's not Cherry... mind I can't be certain... I do have some cherry to compare it against and the cherry seems smoother. I have trouble judging the colour as my coolour vision is a bit off (slight red/green deficiency).
I'll make a string tomorrow and report back :)

Whatever wood it is it is pretty! Lovely color on that wood and the wiggle makes even better. Looking forward to the fd as well!

I also think it is some sort of plum. Hard to find good staves with that lengt, you're a lucky dog - eeh cat I mean.

Lovely executed classy primitive here. Love that tiny tips also. Looking foreward for  .... you know ;)

That definitely looks like plum to me. I love the character and the profiles look great!  )P( I look forward to the FD as well, but knowing you Del, I'm sure it'll be spot on.  ;)
