Iron wood ELB

Does hophornbeam work for an English longbow? Just curious. Also what about smooth leaf elm? Ive seen a few made from Osage

Hop hornbeam is fine for an ELB. I think the East coast NA bows were very much like an ELB if I remember rightly.
Anyhow I made an NA style bow that is virtually an ELB with a flat belly and self nocks 50# shoots nicely.
It was made from a stave I was given when I was over at the Classic :)

I'm pretty sure Marc St. Louis made a heavy draw ELB from HHB. He did it as a build-along if I'm not mistaken.
