With this bow, I was looking to make a simple, slightly recurved yew bow, with no backing or decoration, just some tip overlays, but sometime during the process of thinning the tip, I got carried away and went too thin one tip, and there was no way the recurves would stay in, so I laminated on a strip of yew to the belly of the tips. I can't stand asymmetry, so I made sure the other side was done the same. The glue line showed up on the belly, and I didn't like the look of it, so I wrapped each end with some scrap copperhead skins.
The tips are African Blackwood. The bow is 64" ntn, 64 lbs @ 27". I had originally tried out the strunk style handle on this bow, but did not like the way it felt. That style of grip looks great, but I just couldn't get used to the way it felt, so I cut off the extra leather sections.
