Awesome bow with some nice character! Did you wet the bow with salted water before you put in the fume bag? It looks like it makes the contrast between the early and late wood higher, really nice! The belly almost looks like the laburnum I am finishing up at the moment!

On a personal note: the takedown sleeves fit nicely and I am at floor tiller, will try this salted fume thing on it for sure!  ;D

Very nice bow simson.Your attention to detail comes through every time on your bows.I call those retro bent tips.

Yes, Leon I did like you said - but several times. The colors remind me on a wood I've seen years ago, it was a tropical wood called tigerwood.

Ed, I've found it makes not much difference with levers 5, 4, or 3" long with bows such long as this.
It is another thing when it comes to bows shorter than let's say 50"

Nothing special, see replay #23
I like to do experiments, but I'm not sure what happens here exactly.
The acids from the wood (tannin) is reacting with the ammonia (which can be an acid or a base belonging to the partner, if I remember right).
What the salt is making - i don't know but the result (colors) are different compared without the salt.

@all: Thanks folks!
