Vertical spine
« on: September 26, 2018, 04:14:55 pm »
I was out tuning some arrows. They were too stiff so I was scraping the cock fletch side and 180° from that. It was cool to watch the flight get better and better. When I had finished I remeasured the spine and with the cock flight up it had dropped from about 50 to about 45. I measured at 90° to that and the spine had dropped a little, from 50 to 48-49. That got me wondering, how important is that vertical spine? The one that rides against your knuckle or for some people, the rest ;)

Art Butner told me if possible put the stiff vertical side down on the shelf. So, both stiff sides go against the bow...if possible.
