Another example of small diameter elm.

  Sorry no full draw pic, but I made this bow several years ago and it is just one of those favorites I remember well.

It's from a 2.25" diameter elm sapling, only 64" long, a R/D Mollie hybrid, tips about 3/4" ahead of the handle.  Little lateral jag at the handle, and some experimental nocks.  Originally made 47# with more like 1-1/4", I had to retiller to 42# because the shorter bottom limb weakened over time, reversing the tiller and taking that tad more set.

  That looks like a smooth shooter, I bet she was pretty quick as well.

She seemed nice and quick for draw weight, and yes, a really smooth draw even at only 64" long. To my eye, this was one of the prettier self bows I have made.

Beauty! how did you shape the reflexed limbs? or was it natural bend?
