Kukuri build
« on: March 03, 2018, 10:57:10 am »
It's good to be back! It funny how life interfers with fun. Both the wife and I have battled cancer ...and won! I haven't done much bow work I have been busy at the forge though! Here is a kukuri forged from a farriers rasp. I'm still working on it but making good head way. I used a prophane forge, a anvil I bought at a local discount tool store. I'll post more as I go. Comment are all welcome. Thanks

Very nice work.  That's a cool design.

Glad to hear you beat it! It’s starting to seem like they figured something out as I’ve heard more and more stories of people getting rid of it.

That kukuri is looking nice! I’d never heard of the design until I watched forged in fire and it seems like a hard design as they used it a lot!
May my presence go unnoticed, may my shot be true, may the blood trail be short. Amen.

Congrats to your self and the wife on being cancer free.
I've always admired the
Kukri.
Just have not had the guts to try to forge 1.
Yours looks to be very well executed.
Kevin.

My procedure was easy compared to my wife's, but things have gotten alot better, but lots of work to go. The kukuri is a great chopper in the hands of a Gurkha it really excels at chopping off human body patrs!

I've seen your work on here. You'd have no problem forging.  Unlike wood basically you're just moving material from one area to another.

Congratulations on beating the cancer - I finished getting "nuc'd" in Dec, and so far follow up is clear.  Can't see your pics, thanks to PB.

Switch to imgur or flicker. Photobucket charges money now and holds your pics ransom.
