Excellent example of working with wet wood and the elasticity that hickory has.The tools used also.At least it looked like hickory to me.Could be wrong.

No Andy, I just enjoy watching people who are good at their craft. Especially when using old hand tools.

I think it's probably ash. Ash is what lots of traditional basket makers used.
It's fun to watch a craftsman work with his tools with such ease.
