Comanche style bow / first Osage bow.

My wife decided that I needed to start getting pictures of my bows, so she took up the photographer part. Since I have photos, I thought I might as well start posting some. This bow is my first Osage bow. A nice skinny stave I got from DuBois. It had a dog leg in it, that took dry heat and bent right out. So that impressed my about Osage, as well as how easy Osage is to chase a ring. I'm used to the hours chasing yew rings....when I thought I was necessary. The stave was perfect for a simple NA replica. Certainly nothin fancy, but I love shooting it. It's 54" NtN, 52lbs @ 27", semi rigid handle, and a little horse hair from Whiskey, a friends horse. I wanted a handle wrap, but couldn't find and Comanche bows with handle wraps, maybe someone here has seen some with a handle wrap so I can keep it true to type......nevermind the D97 string.

For my 2nd bow (still finishing my first) I have a 54" osage stave and I was looking at making a bendy handled bow with it.
If you don't mind I might have to try to copy this and pick your brain.  I like this style a lot.
How wide is the bow at the handle and and what does it taper down to at the knocks?
Also, I see the handle is just a tad thicker than the limbs for the semi rigid handle. About how much thicker is it there?  1/8 of an inch?

Simple and lovely! 

Maybe some 3/8-1/2" wide rawhide wrapped around the handle would keep that authentic look.  Cant remember if i saw that on the ones ive seen on display but it seems reasonable.

Thanks guys, I appreciate the compliments. I think I'll try the raw or buckskin for a grip. Seems like it would be authrntic to me.

HirseApples, I'll check the measurements tonight and post again. Usually I leave the handle pretty stiff until I'm around 20" draw, the slowly work it until I can just barely feel it bend. I almost treat it like the handle and fades are a third limb....not sure if that makes any sense.
