Little Black Locus Somewhat Indian Bow
« on: July 06, 2017, 07:39:00 pm »
This bendy handle BL turned out to be a nice shooter. Smooth with a punch. Heat treated the belly, backed with rawhide, used a piece of ebony and inlayed it in the handle for a strike plate. Took a timber rattler and glued it down to Prutty it up through the middle of the bow. Limbs are 1.5" parallel 1/2 way down then tapper to 5/8" tips. This bow is 58" nock to nock, 45# @ 26". Finished off with deer fat, bees wax and pine pitch cooked together for a good water proofing. Strung up with a raw hide string. Thanks for looking and sorry learning how to use imgur since photobucket wants paid!

Nice bow gutshot, a lot of extra detail with the rawhide string and natural finish. It all looks good and I like the conservation of snake skies to.

Paul that is some kind of nice bow right there. Got me one of your BL bows and they do shoot sweet and hard. Very nice all the way around.

Nice looking bow.  I like the clean, primitive look to that and the rawhide string looks great.  Thanks for posting.
