Lemonwood stave/board blanks
« on: May 19, 2017, 09:37:17 pm »
Hi all,
In my recent stash purchase there are several lemon wood bow blanks, from the 40s. Some are marked Product of Cuba. If there is interest, I will pack them to Marshall, they are roughly 1 by 2 by 6 feet. I'd be looking for stone microlith points, shoot shafting, or other types of bow wood. Thanks.

Kyle Id love to have one, finally! Its not the best bow wood, but it sure is romantic bow wood.

I have some shoots and plenty of staves. PM me and we can discuss what you want me to bring.

I would be interested in one,  I can bring some straight, seasoned, gray dogwood shoots to Marshall.  I'm sure we could work something out.

I built one hickory backed lemonwood bow a few years ago and enjoyed the way it worked. I built a 1940's ALB style and donated it, a tube quiver and some old painted Bear arrows(from Pearlie) to the raffle table at the Classic a few years ago. Cipriano had someone buy 1 ticket for it and won.  :OK
I have another lemonwood stave that I will back with hickory for another ALB bow.

I got one of these staves at Marshal and want to know what an Alb is? Does lemon wood need backed or will rawhide suffice?

Thank you for the trade  ksnow!

You are welcome, Sleek. Not sure of the exact design of an American Long Bow. I have always heard of lemon wood backed with hickory or maple.
