2017 1st Annual New River Knap-In and Primitive Arts Show

Held at Camp Dickenson along the scenic New River 801 Camp Dickenson Lane, Fries, Virginia 24330

Come out and relax next to the New River
at beautiful Camp Dickerson.
Watch craftsmen and artisans replicate arrowheads, spear points, and ancient tools made out of flints and cherts. Learn cordage making, fire starting, survival skills and how to throw spears using the ancient spear thrower, the atlatl.
There will be educational demonstrations daily. Saturday there will be a silent auction. Proceeds to go toward future knap-ins on site.
This is a family oriented and educational event. Admission is $3 per vehicle
Vendors: primitive tent camping $10 per night (plenty of space).
Camper or tent on camper site $15 per night, includes electric, water & fire ring.
*Note: there are only 13 camper sites.
Showers & toilets on site
Breakfast & lunch will be available at the mess hall.
Pavilion for night knapping and demonstrations.
Vendor/participant fee is $10 for the event
