Yep I knew some stuff would follow me home after Miss Joanie and My weekend away looking at old stuff. I an old clothes ringer, not sure what I will do with it but may use it in some way with my brain tanning  :-\ if not it's cool just the same. Also a broad ax in need of a handle and a hand powered bench grinder. Look at some anvils but they were out of my price range. ::)

I know someone that uses an old ringer washer for brain tanning.  He says it does about two thirds of the hard work for him!

Ya I thought it might work well after the brain's flushed through the hide good, when you ring it the last time before stretching and pulling, just to get most of the moisture out of it. Maybe  :-\ I will give it a try , one thing for sure , it won't hunt it. ;) :) If not I will just put it up somewhere to look at. ;)

Those are some interesting finds Pappy.   Might be a dumb idea but could you roll a piece of dried leg sinew through that thing to break it into fibers?

I haven't been able to make any auctions lately.  My daughter has cross country meets every Saturday morning.

I love going and looking , even if I don't buy anything. Hazel KY. has more of this kind of stuff than you can look at in a day, some priced high but if you just keep looking you will find some deals once in a while. :)

With my daughter having Cross Country meets every Saturday I haven't been able to go to any auctions.  Nothing interesting has followed me home for a while.  I took the wife camping Tuesday night and found this cool axe in a junk store.  Norlund is a pretty good brand.

Norland is a very good axe, that one is in great shape

Had a few things follow me home from the Flea Market today. I picked the double ax head up foe $4 and stopped on the way home and got a handle. The Drawknife was $10. A week ago the lady wanted $15 and Ipassed on it. Today the husband was there and Joyce wasn't and he said give me 10 an don't tell her. :OK The little hatchet was $5 and I've never seen one that small, really cool.
