Osage for Jon

So a year or so ago I was sitting with Jon and told him I wanted to do a bow trade with him. He agreed even knowing it was going to take me a bit to make his. I was building my house and going through some personal stuff. Well, Jon is a machine and had my bow to me over the summer and I've finally made one I'll send out to him. The stave was from some of my early bow making days. It's something like 58" long and pulls about 58@27. It was a natural reflexed stave so I didn't heat it except to straighten it a bit. The grip is elk hide and the tips are some horn I traded with Chuck for. I really like it for overlays. It's done beautiful stuff. The string is from my friend Glenn because I hate making strings, and his look better anyway. I can't wait to give it to Jon in a few weeks! Good trading with you bud!

I'd say that bow was worth the wait. Simple and elegant at the same time. Great looking unstrung profile. Awsome full draw.

That's what I like, a plain old bow with a nice bend. Good one!

Great looking bow Red Beard. You can tell that osage has some age to it from the grain lines on the back. I owe Jon a bow also. I'd like to be able to hand deliver it at Marshall

Thanks guys. I hope it lasts forever for you Jon. I'll see you at the bowood get together in a few weeks.
Good eye Clint. I think this stave was probably 2009 or 10.

I've got an ocean spray bow coming along with a very similar profile, and if it looks half as good as that I'll be very happy! Awesome bow.
